Do you own a home that is perfect in terms of location, space, and design? Do you think your home is the best? What if you are about to feel pain in your neck, back, leg joints, and shoulders?!
Unfortunately, we often focus on aesthetics, luxuries, color coordination, and decor, only to be surprised later by the disastrous damage it causes to our bodies and joints—especially seats. Many modern sofas focus more on beauty and elegance than on the user’s comfort requirements. Since you’ll be spending a lot of time in the living room, design experts advise you to choose the sofa that suits you, as a sofa that’s too high for you won’t allow you to sit comfortably.
Big sofas are not the solution
Many people believe that large sofas are usually comfortable, but the opposite is true. Regardless of your age or health, sinking into an oversized sofa puts greater pressure on your spine and pelvis, which can cause health problems over time. This is in addition to the effort required when sitting down or standing up from these large sofas.
Sofas that support your body while sitting are the best choice for you. This doesn’t mean they should be as hard as wood, but rather they should provide the appropriate amount of support to bear some of the weight off your spine and joints, and reduce the effort required while standing and sitting.
How to keep yourself safe
Of course, the preferred height and depth of sofas varies from person to person, as everyone’s height and shape vary, so you should sit for at least 20 minutes to decide whether the sofa is right for you or not.
If you want to hang a TV in your living room, you should take this into consideration, so that the sofas allow you to lie down fully with head and neck support, and the TV should be at eye level while you are sitting on the sofa so that you do not need to crane your neck or look up or down.
