(Grey is receding in favor of bold colors)
After a period of gray dominating new designs of everything, and designers and people in general being keen to use it extensively, whether in furniture, tools, or accessories, progress has become noticeable in favor of adding rich and bold colors to various spaces of the home. Meanwhile, gray, in its fifty shades, remained a neutral color that casts a gentle shadow on the soul and largely maintains its position as the most modern color in interior design. However, this year, charcoal shades of gray were launched, which soften the intensity of the bold, warm colors, resulting in a wonderful and calm mixture that combines beauty, visual comfort, cool neutrality, and warmth.
In this year’s Interior Design Yearbook, interior design expert Tiffany Dugan notes that dark colors, along with rich, bold hues, will remain dominant in 2017, but will be used in more saturated shades. For example, dark blue or navy walls will serve as a good backdrop for highlighting the visual elements of your room’s furniture and decor, especially with the use of Indian yellow, burnt orange, and shades of green in furniture.
Neutral shades of blue in paint still have their own charm and are in great demand. They are especially wonderful when combined with yellow to add a touch of warmth and balance to the space. However, if your room is full of neutral elements and you want to break this monotony, you should use a pink or yellow background to make your room warmer, such as using a pink rug with a heavy gray sofa, or bright yellow curtains in a room furnished with gray sofas mixed with black.

While you can use cool blue for chairs with dark or black flooring, black is a striking color, especially when used on furniture pieces such as chairs and even furniture edges, as it defines and highlights the shape and breaks up the harshness of bright colors.
It’s interesting to use the wonderful combination of moss green as a pillow, for example, thrown on a cool pink sofa. Pink is a calming color and is very popular in modern designs now.
Metallic finishes in light gray, dark metallic, copper, and chrome remain popular and have shown no signs of slowing down.
It’s recommended that you choose the colors of your furniture, sofas, lighting, wall art, and even your pillows before deciding on the paint color that will serve as a backdrop for all these harmoniously colored objects, creating a comfortable balance with them. When you choose the right colors for your home, you give it life.
